Memory - Maybe I'll just take what I want and leave the city to burn for my actions
It starts with Marian Hawke, Aveline and Merrill entering a building in the docks. Tevinter mages menace a single, untidy rogue named Wall-Eyed Sam, pressuring him for the Tome of Koslun, when the giant Qunari bursts in on a walkway above. A Tevinter swings her staff at the Qunari, a burst of flame narrowly missing the horned warrior; he bellows a war cry in another language, and all hell breaks loose. Sam flees, and instead of staying to back up her allies, Isabela shouts and gives chase; her friends are left to deal with the mess.
Isabela doesn't bother talking to Wall-Eyed Sam when she catches him. The pirate kills him, cleans her blades on his clothes, and relieves Sam of the oversized tome everyone's been fighting over. There's a moment of hesitation. Her allies are back there, fighting for her. Hawke is back there. But she's got what she needs. Give this book to Castillon, and she gets her life back. There's not much time...she tears a scrap of a mostly-blank page out (she hates the Qun, Castillon doesn't want it for its reading value anyway, screw it) and jots a note, tucking it under the arm of Sam's body.
"Dear Hawke,
I have the relic, and I am gone. I'm sorry it has to be this way. You've been a loyal ally, but this is best for us both. You promised me the relic, and I know you'll fight Castillon for me, but I don't want this. I've dragged you too far into this mess already. You don't have to forgive me, but I hope you understand.
Isabela"
And she runs, seeking the seedy hideouts in the docks, stowing away on the first ship that's leaving...
